Re: Statement on the release of a tribute song to our father:
The family of Chief, Nhon, Dr Peter Ajang Nnane is now happy to publish the
original version of our Dad’s tribute song composed and sang by one of the most
talented Artists in Cameroon, Elone Fidelis.
Our family would like to caution that a fake version of the song has been
circulating on social media over the past week. That version was leaked as our
family was finalising edits on the song. Besides, the song, which forms a
collection of many songs our family is compiling to celebrate our father’s legacy
was not intended to be published now. However, we have decided to publish
the original song since the fake version is already in the public. We would like to
inform our friends and the public that apart from the normal age-related health
challenges, our father (who is now 84 years old) is ok and in good form. The
person who leaked the song has only provided him the opportunity to listen to
it, himself, and he has blessed us to publish it.
As mentioned earlier, the song is part of a collection of many songs compiled by
some of the finest artists in Cameroon and the album will be released when it is
ready. We encourage our friends to be vigilant and not to share the fake version.
We are also working on producing a CD of all the songs and will communicate
the distribution points to the public when the CD is ready. All proceeds that will
be generated from the CD will go to the respective artists.
