Our story begins at Fireroot Farm on the northwestern tip of the Republic of Talmaad, where four disparate wanderers converge: Manaia Wairua, a half-orc fighter (Brute); Øka Hyye, an aasimar bloodhunter (Bonded Bloodletting); Vee, an elf sorcerer (Draconic Ancestry); and Cardew "Dewey" Quurk, an aarakocra ranger (Beast Master). Each adventurer seeks the same tiefling for very different reasons. They discover the tiefling's husband and a talking cat, who point them toward a two-spired butte deep into the badlands. At the butte, our unlikely heroes square off against a laughing door, two adorable guard drakes, and a strange organization that seems to worship long-extinct dragons. Finally, our heroes find their tiefling -- but they also interrupt a high-stakes childbirth. The ground inexplicably starts shaking, rocks break loose from the ceiling, and horrific monsters burst through the wall. Roll initiative!
